Christmas Eve

10 o'clock Christmas Eve and only just feeling slightly relaxed Julie & I have been flat out garage now completely empty as is the summer house most of the house is packed down just the kitchen to do 

The drink on Friday with work was good few laughs and plenty of stories from jobs gone by.Looking forward to our first proper Christmas dinner in 5yrs as we are usually away elsewhere laying on a beach

Last Day

Today is potentially our last day at work for a year , it all revolves round a solicitor handing a peice of paper over to say that our tenants house is no longer theirs so they don't have anywhere to live except our house , if it doesn't happen today we might have to come back into work for the first couple of days but it just depends on the right people signing the right bit of paper at the right time 

So it's a few beers with all the staff this afternoon and a few goodbyes and plenty of banter and gossip 

Julie's car goes tomorrow then it's really time to start packing the furniture down and sorting clothes , there's more paper work to sort out than anything else really ,poor Julie has had the crap job of trawling through all that.

If the weathers looking good might try and fit a sneaky kite in at camber over the w/e and then it's family get together Sunday afternnoon which is nice as we only seem to be able to all hook up once a year

Anyway will keep the blog upto date.oh one last thing can't believe the year we don't go kiting to Egypt at Christmas everybody seems to have gone , well we have a whole year of kiting , surfing and general doing what we love coming up so shouldn't complain 

What a weekend

Back to work today after a fantastic weekend up at Brancaster with some good friends ,drove up Friday night in the motorhome which on arrival looked like I had driven via every farm track rather than by road all I can say is the farmers up there must very busy at the moment moving produce about ,so it was straight to the Jolly Sailor for a few pints and some food which is always fantastic and to meet up with all that drove up Friday night .

Saturday was blue skies and windy so after a few mugs of tea and a nice breakfast with the others some of the group went kitesurfing while the rest went for a long walk on the coastal path to see the effects of the big storm surge that hit last week , well omg boats in people's back gardens , gardens full of bouys,pallets and all sorts of debris from boat yards from along the coast 

Some houses escaped but others had tide marks upto half way up downstairs windows, very sad 

After a quick de brief in the Ship Inn it was back to base for what can only be said as a feast put on by Claire with some help from the other girls which then followed by far too much laughter and general banter plus moderate drinking !!!

Sunday morning was again sunny with a gusty south westerly wind so a few of the group went to Hunstanton for a kite while the rest went over the evening befores stories and jokes with a cuppa .After a nice leisurely breakfast and some more tea most people opted to make a move home , as did we . The roads where just the same on way home the motorhome now looked like it had done the RAC rally

So in the dark at home it got a quick clean as Iam sure if we had left it stuff would start growing on it .

Then it was chill time fire alight feet up and checking all the stuff to do this week which looks busy chimney sweep, gas check on boiler , builder doing chimney ,people coming to look at the mini and then fingers crossed the tenancy agreement getting signed ,

Work ,Rest & Play

The word is out at work that we are both leaving to go travelling for a year, really nice thing is everybody is so excited for us and a little jealous if the truth be known .Then all the questions when, where ,why,how long for, will you ever come back,what you doing with all your stuff ie vans,cars,furniture & cats 

So more chatting going on than work this week but will be nice to have a beer with them next Friday .

No sorting/ jobs this weekend as we are having a weekend away up the east coast with friends and hopefully a cheeky kite Sesh as the wind is looking ok ,will probably be last trip in the motorhome in the uk before we head away on our adventure

Another job off the list

Well the sun did come out for a short time just enough to get the Mini all cleaned up ready to be advertised.Took the Motorhome down to the petrol station to fill the new Gaslow system up with LPG little bit scary as never done it before but with a puff of liquid gas from the nozzle we managed to fill up and pleasantly surprised at the savings compared to regular calor bottles.

Now time for that walk & Beer we promised ourselves

Another weekend of sorting the endless list of to do's

Well today was mostly spent on the roof of the motorhome sorting roof bars ,roof box and SUP positioning out ready for the off ,then into the workshop to continue the packing of far too many bits and bobs that we have come to collect over the years thinking that oh that will come in handy ! .Until you come to do something like this you don't realise how many things there are to sort out.

Me Julie is happy as I updated the software and bought a new app on the mac so she could continue to do her xl spreadsheet of our finances which she has kept up to date since god knows when

Tomorrow we clean the mini up ready to be sold , then nice walk via ye old inn

The count down

Well this all a bit new to us , we have set this up to keep family and friends informed of our travels,and what we have seen and done .Not long now to the big day and we don't mean Christmas Day . Watch this space
